5-Word 365 #073 – The Fighter

Today’s flick is one that has been written about extensively since its release just over a year ago. There isn’t really much more I could add to that, so I’m not even gonna try.

The Fighter

It really is that good.

I can’t decide if it’s a better movie than Warrior, but it gets bonus points for Amy Adams in her underwear.

You sold me at Amy Adams in her underwear. Honestly, having heard next to nothing about either movie, I tend to get those two mixed up.

Yeah, they are quite similar thematically, plus the release dates were so close as well. They’re both excellent films, definitely worth watching

It’s definitely a better movie than Warrior. I liked Warrior, but it was at least half an hour longer than it needed to be, which saps it of the momentum it needs more. The Fighter doesn’t have that problem. This was my take, if you’re curious: http://demonsresume.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/screening-in-nyc-the-fighter-2010/

You’re right, there’s not an ounce of fat in The Fighter, but I’m not convinced there was that much flab in Warrior. Where would you have made the cuts?

I thought this was a bit Oscar baity – but did really enjoy it. I love how Amy Adams is one of the few respectable actresses that doesn’t mind getting down to her scants to “develop” the character. I think she did it a lot in sunshine cleaning too – BOOM!

Thought Wahlberg was criminally overlooked too.

I haven’t seen Sunshine Cleaning, but I get the impression it should go on the list.

Amy Adams down to her briefs and Emily Blunt looking like a hottie… it’s the sexiest crime scene cleanup film you can imagine!
